Overview of Dr. Hoff

I am a board-certified cardiac and thoracic surgeon at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. I specialize in adult cardiac surgery.

Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2022, I was a member of the Orlando Health Heart & Vascular Institute, the chief of the Department of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center and an associate professor of surgery at the University of Central Florida School of Medicine.

Previously, I served as associate professor of cardiac surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where I also served as surgical director of the Vanderbilt Center for Atrial Fibrillation, director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support and Cardiac Transplantation program and co-director of the cardiac surgery residency training program.

My focus is in the fields of less-invasive coronary surgery and heart rhythm surgery, with multiple research trials, presentations and manuscripts in these areas. My research has been published in peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and the Annals of Thoracic Surgery. I have been published on topics that include less invasive and hybrid therapies for coronary artery disease and atrial fibrillation, as well as minimally invasive mitral valve surgery.

After receiving my medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University school of medicine, I completed a general surgery residency, cardiac surgery fellowship and cardiac surgery research fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

I am a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. I am also a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association and International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery.
